ANNUAL ARKADI MEMORIAL DANCE

We invite you to join us on Saturday, November 27, 2010 as we commemorate the Uprising at the Arkadi Monastery in 1866. This annual dinner-dance will be held at the Metropolitan Centre at 3840 Finch Avenue East, between Birchmount and Kennedy Road. This year we are pleased to have Giorgos Nistikakis (laouto) and Giorgos Vranas (lyra) entertain us with live Cretan music. We will also be holding a Silent Auction where you can bid on some great gifts. Please call and reserve your dance tickets early, as there will only be a few available at the door. Sunday, September 19 – Welcome Back BBQ/Appreciation Day (2:00pm at our association, 1110 Birchmount Road, Unit 23)
Sunday, September 26 – Dance Lessons resume
Monday, October 11 – Thanksgiving Day Holiday
Sunday, October 24 – General Assembly Meeting/Elections (starting promptly at 4:00pm at our association)
Sunday, October 31 – Greek Community ‘OXI Day’ Parade on the Danforth at 1pm
Sunday, November 7 – Memorial for the Holocaust at Arkadi (to be held at St. John’s Church at Warden and Ellesmere)
Sunday, November 21 – 30th Anniversary Memorial for Nikos Xilouris (starting at 4:00pm at St. Demetrios’ Polymenakion Cultural Centre)
Saturday, November 27 – Annual Arkadi Dinner-Dance (held at the Metropolitan Centre, 3840 Finch Avenue East)
Saturday, December 11 – First Annual ‘Breakfast with Santa’ (NOTE: **runs from 9:30 am-12 noon including a visit from St. Nicholas)
